March is Epilepsy Awareness Month

Did you know...
  • 1 our of 100 Canadians live with Epilepsy*;

  • 13% are children and youth aged 1-19*;

  • Each seizure looks different and depends on the type of seizure a person is experiencing;

  • 70% of people living with Epilepsy could gain seizure freedom with the right medication;

  • When AED's are not effective, surgery (both brain and other) as well as the Ketogenetic Diet are options for seizure control.

  • Seizures can range in duration and frequency from 1 per year to several a day and lasting a few seconds to a few minutes.
